Junior Summer Week
This course has not yet been scheduled for 2017 - more information will be posted soon.
The Summer Sailing Week is for those children who have no sailing experience or who already hold one of the RYA Start Sailing Stage certificates. The week will be a combination of sail training and fun sailing and is open to children who are 8 to 16 years old.
For those children allocated a place, registration will take place on the first morning of the week at 0930. A parent or Guardian must attend the registration bringing with them a completed Application Form and Medical Declaration Form, a cheque made out to Helensburgh Sailing Club for the full amount and any sailing logbooks for the named child.
The cost of the week is £200.00
Children must not be delivered to the club before 0915 and must be collected by 1645.
All children must be signed in/out of HSC by their parent/guardian.
Children must have their own wetsuit and wear appropriate footwear (welly boots are not suitable). As a wetsuit does not provide warmth when not in the water children are to be in possession of a lightweight waterproof and windproof jacket or sailing oversuit to be worn when required.
Buoyancy aids will be provided for those not having their own. (Manual/Automatic lifejackets are not suitable for dinghy sailing and must not be worn).
All children must have in their possession each day:
- A packed lunch and snacks
- A Towel and complete set of dry clothes including shoes
- Sunscreen and sunhat
- Any medicines, detailed on the Medical Consent form, in a named container that includes the dosage
- Alternative Contact -Parents/Guardians must nominate an emergency contact who is available during course hours
Parents of students under 12 years old on 1st March 2017 must have membership of HSC. Students over the age of 12 must take out Cadet membership if their parents are not members. Full membership details are available on this website.
The relevant Application Form will be added to the right-hand bar once plans for 2017 are finalised.
